At least for now, due to the technical difficulties they were having over at mp40modelguns.com, the MP40 modelgun forum has moved- to a forumotion site, after some discussion about what I'd done here.

Here's the new site:

Formerly modelguns.co.uk... had one transaction with them and it was bad, but their website is a great reference.

I may well be posting here more now if the MP40 forums are still having problems.

So... what do you guys use for cleaning modelguns? On a blank firing gun I'd be squirting it out with WD40 and wiping it off for a quickie clean, then using typical gun-cleaning stuff (minus the lead solvent) for a full cleaning, but I'm worried about what WD40 or other things might do to the rubber seals and ABS parts of a modelgun. I use silicon oil for lubrication, but for just cleaning it off... water?

Found for sale at Los Angeles prop house 2XS&W highway patrolman, 2X1911 .45 and a Colt Python, all 1970's era MGC, although all slightly different from each other and all metal.

This was fun for me, as I had all but given up finding a trove like this. Most prop houses are picked over pretty quickly at sale time.

Not a replica, my Diamondback earning it's keep.

Note: The two MGC 1911's are very different, different shaped hammers and lower frames are different ...

Modelgun cartridges in airsoft spring revolver?

Anyone tried a modelgun .38 or .357 cartridge with 5mm or 7mm caps in one of the spring powered airsoft revolvers? Wondered about trying that, since it seems like there's a plastic 'firing pin' that pushes the airsoft bb out... and might be up to the task of setting off one of those caps. Don't have any modelgun revolver casings to test it with, though. If it works, it'd certainly be a cheap way to get more options for revolvers, and it'd be nice to have that smoke and bang for prop use.
