Funny, I could swear I had a topic about these in here from ages ago... anyway, I finally got around to modifying one of the magazines to full size. It's been my biggest aesthetic peeve with these models. They're darn near idiot proof, rarely jam (since the mechanism is a motor instead of the blowback), go bang, smoke a little eject casings... I wish they were select fire, but at $40 each you can't expect too much.

Hopefully I'll get some pictures up with the new mag soon, but here's ...

This bit of news was in a RedWolf airsoft piece about the old shell-ejecting GBB CZ75:

They don't make them like they used to... No wait! In the summer of 2008 Marushin did announce that they are releasing another shell-ejecting GBB pistol, the Glock 21.

Very interesting! Modelguns aren't cheap or easy to find, and as far as I'm concerned this would be almost as good. Wonder what they'll run for.

I do have a shell-ejecting gas blowback Marushin uzi, but it's got problems- it ...

New Models from Palco

PalcoSports has released some new (to me) models of "2nd Generation" reproductions/commemoratives: AK47, Thompson, MP40, etc. The models appear to be excellent and are priced in the $179+ range. So far I've only seen them on display at a Gander Mountain retail store.
Has anyone found them anywhere else, preferably at discounted prices?
Thanks - Rick

With the exception of RAP4's kits & finished guns, has anyone seen any reliable BB conversions for paintball guns. I'm especially interested in full auto with a muzzle velocity of 450+ fps. I already have one of RAP's M16 knockoffs & their MP5 knockoff, as well as some other select-fire BB guns.

Thought I'd share a little trick I picked up in dealing with airsoft and rubber guns (and I'll cross-post this).

The challenge is making them look real, of course, when they're ABS plastic or rubber. Coloring is only half of it- an important half of course, and I often try to weather things (a little silvery streaking where things would slide together or where bluing might be rubbed off by holster draws), add details (red dot on the safety, white dots on the sights), etc.

The finish needs ...

Painting over orange barrels

Anyone who's bought cheap airsoft guns off ebay or elsewhere has had to deal with this in the past: How do you get rid of that damn orange barrel or paint?

Blank finishes are pretty easy to fake with decent spraypaint, and polished metal can have orange paint sanded or scraped off and be re-polished... but metallic ABS finishes are a pain in the butt.

Anyone found a good touch-up paint for that? Nice chrome or nickel finish that doesn't also gunk things up, fill in gaps, etc?

Looks like someone has (or a couple someones have) picked up on, formalized, and improved the old trick of putting some talc powder in the barrel of an airsoft gun to simulate smoke.
