Hi,

I'm working on a movie that will need a breakaway table and bar stool. Any ideas from folks on the best way on a low budget to do this?

Any suggestions on this are welcome.

Thanks

I've generally stayed away from brass knuckles, due to various legal issues, but I've always been a bit tempted to try to make a foam pair that would do double-duty as visual prop and, if anything, a little padding.

Still haven't gone that far, but I did find 'plastic knuckles' being made to circumvent the many local laws (including here in Seattle) against 'metal knuckles' (presumably written that way since sometimes they're brass, sometimes steel or other metals). These are hard plastic- ...

Just a quick share- used some of these in a production of Romeo & Juliet, and got the cheapie $25 version from Sportsman's Guide (same cheapie ones available at plenty of other places, as far as I can tell). Big mistake apparently!
Heard a couple days ago that one of them came apart in performance!

I've seen Renaissance examples of combo weapons, even one of a dagger that shot the tip of the knife as a projectile... also seen guns hidden in covert items these days (cellphones was the newsmaker in the UK a while back, with people making .22 zip guns in cellphones), but you don't see as many combo melee/firearm weapons these days.

Here's an interesting demo of one:

Those of you who use whips in performance- what length is the most useful? Seems like anything over 10' might be too long, but the little 3 footers I have are almost too short and quick to have the same dramatic effect... plus that makes them harder to crack and almost useless for wraps.

What's a good all-around performance whip length- between 5' and 8'?
