Denix AK-47
Anyone got one of these? How is the workmanship and the feel of the thing? Is it anywhere near to the real one? I know it can be disseassemled but anyone can give some review will be nice. I am thinking of ordering one.

Re: Denix AK-47
I've got two.
I'll preface by saying I don't have and have never fired (sadly) a real AK, so I may not be judging fairly. Last time I handled something comparable in a real firearm (SKS) that felt really rattly, loose, and cheaply made, even if it was real steel & wood, and able to handle the force of 7.62 rounds reliably.
Still, it's not bad. Decent heft to it. The magazine rattles around, but maybe that's 'authentic' too. One nice bonus is that real AK mags will fit in the mag well, complete with some dummy rounds in them- a nice plus, since the dummy mag that comes with it won't take dummy rounds. Bolt can be moved, which is more than I can say for the Dummy VZ58 I bought a few years back for about the same price (dummy receiver with retired parts from the real deal). Feels pretty real- perhaps not a precision instrument of marksmanship but like something that might have been firing off rounds somewhere in Eastern Europe for a decade or two before being re-finished and sent to me, which is generally what I figure a dummy AK ought to feel like.
Haven't tried swapping out any other parts besides the mags yet, but I'd be curious someday to see if real AK stocks, bayonets, etc will work on it.
The trigger guard isn't really broken or quite that thin, that's just my bad photoshop skills when updating the props website late at night.
Where were you planning on ordering from?

Re: Denix AK-47
Just that I have seen one in the gunshop near my area. They have got real AK and SKS in the shop too but never bother to ask the shop owner to compare them. Will do so tomorrow.
Thanks for the infos Kevin. By the way does the sight post on top of the receiver move at all?
Cheers.
