New blanks!!! Empty New blanks!!!

Post  vernonsmith Tue Mar 04, 2008 2:26 am

Bought some blanks today, but dare not put them through my Glock and Beretta Shocked Don't know how loud that will be and don't want to scare the neighbours and attract unwanted attention from the authorities.

My Glock and Beretta are both front venting, have open barrel and have threads in front of barrel that I can screw an adaptor on. Does that mean mine pistol will have spark, flame and smoke coming out in front of the muzzle? I am looking forward to buy more of these pistols when I can find them. But at the moment I can only find these two models in my area. They are both made by Bruni and not sure how the qualities are compare to other mades of blank firers.

Well they will be loud, but if you fire inside the house it will sound outside as something heavy has been dropped inside the house so not obviously a gun being fired.
Where are you in the world to get forward venting models by the way especially bruni forward venting? As to qaulity, well bruni is not the tops compared to umarex and reck but theay are not bad, if however you were going to use them like some of the guys on this forum (on film sets) putting a few hundred rounds through one in one sitting then i am not sure all parts would stand up to it the slide stop bar on my brothers 92 gave up the ghost (though he repaired it easily) after a lot of firing and i have heard of some other small parts going on them but on the whole for normal use i think they are fine.
Put an umarex next to the bruni and the umarex will win but i have a number of brunis and i have always been happy with them, oh! and yes you will get flash coming out of the barrel, the threads at the end are to attach a small flare attachment that usually come with the gun.

Oh what do you mean claymore? Is the front venting ones hard to get? All the model they sell here are front venting ones (I am in Austin, Texas USA) Is it hard to get the front venting one anywhere else in the world? There is no hole or vent on top or side of the barrel on my Beretta and Glock. I can see through the barrel is not completely sealed, there is some insert in it though to prevent real ammos use I guess. There is a + like obstruction in the barrel I can see clearly from the muzzle end.

Well not hard to get but many countries do not allow front venters and i was under the impression that the states was the same as every place i have looked at that sells blank firers in the states sells them with the red plug in the end which i thought was american law no matter what state you are in, i know texas is very fortunate its liberal gun policies (which i envy you for) but i thought the red plug in the end meant top venters only. germany sells all front venters not sure about the rest of europe though and the UK was top venters. Front venters do have a metal bar going through to prevent any projectile being fired out of it.
So are the laws on replica/blank firing guns different for the state of Texas than other states then?

It's certainly harder to get blank firing models online in the USA that are front-venting... I know I'd love to have a source for more of them.

Where do you buy?

...and yes, if they have the screw-on adapter they were at least made to be front venting. Sometimes some importers will include that accessory even after an aftermarket conversion to top-venting has been done. If they're top venting you can usually see the vent hole near the ejection port. If front venting, you'll be able to see light through the barrel.

Let us know more!

Thanks

Have a closer inspection today are those rounds which they mention is 9mm PAK really in 9mm? I have a real Glcok 17 in 9mm when I compare the rounds and the blank, the real one is significantly larger in diameter than the blank round. I think it should be 8mm PAK not 9mm?

The blanks I have got is from Fiocchi for use in Bruni GAP and Beretta M92
